Witch Doctor Review: Deformed Babies, Scalpels the Size of Swords, Supernatural Gore, and More!

Take the Doctor from Doctor Who, the fantasy themes from NBC's (HORRIBLE) show Grimm, add a bit of quirky humor and you've got the four issue mini series Witch Doctor! Presented by Image Comics (The Walking Dead), written by Brandon Seifert, and drawn by Lukas Ketner, Witch Doctor follows the misadventures of Dr. Vincent Morrow, a witch doctor (go figure) who is always saving the world from apocalypses and fun stuff like that. He's aided by his sidekick Eric Gast and one of his patients Penny Dreadful who's odd to say the least. The series (Which apparently is only volume one) has four issues in it with a one shot following after. Another one shot is due sometime this year but doesn't have an exact date for release. Witch Doctor delivers a humorous and sometimes demented take on supernatural and fantasy ideas. With babies being kidnapped and replaced by faerie offspring to fish people, you'll have no problem getting your dose of fantasy and horror with this book. And if you like Doctor Who, you'll love this even more. I feel Seifert and Ketner based Vincent Morrow off of BBC's notorious doctor. Maybe it's just me. Regardless, this comic is definitely worth checking out and I would pick up my copy soon. P.S. There are references to dead baby jokes (In issue 2 alone) so for you softies out there, read with caution...
